Get Certified in the CIA's CARVER Method

at a the luxurious and historic Victory Services Club in Central London

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

One Full Educational Day of Learning and Certification in the CIA's CARVER Target Analysis and Vulnerability Assessment Strategy

A Security Vulnerability Assessment (SVA) is an understanding of the threats, weaknesses, and probability of attack, which could impact a facility, person, system or event.

As such, the CARVER Strategic Target Analysis and Vulnerability Assessment Methodology is a time-tested vulnerability assessment methodology that balances efficiency with reliability.

It is a unique analytical tool because it facilitates both a qualitative and a quantitative assessment of an asset’s vulnerabilities.  Most assessment tools are limited to qualitative assessments.  A quantitative assessment assists in highlighting vulnerabilities, prioritizing assets and remedial efforts.

This is your opportunity to earn your Certified CARVER Assessment Professional (CCAP) designation from Security Management International, the University of South Florida's Office of Corporate Training and Professional Education, as well as ASIS-International.

Learn in a Proud Military Setting...

Founded in 1907, The Victory Services Club (VSC) is a private members club and registered charity in London, England for retired, veteran, serving members and immediate family members of Commonwealth and NATO armed forces, including the UK and US.  NOTE - You do not need to be former or current military to attend this training.  Membership is open to all ranks of Commonwealth and NATO's armies, navies, marines and air forces.

The training venue at The Victory Services Club matches perfectly with the CARVER Methodology, which was initially created by the Office of Strategic Services, the precursor of the American CIA.

What is the CARVER Methodology?

Attendees in this one-day proficiency course, which is based on the CIA’s CARVER Methodology, will learn, practice, and integrate skills used in the analysis and examination of the interrelationships between assets, threats, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures of a specified facility.  CARVER is a unique analytical tool because it facilities both a qualitative and quantitative assessment of a facility’s vulnerabilities.  The course is designed to aid the students in identifying assets most attractive to attack by an adversary, based upon several key factors identified through the CARVER Methodology.  Multiple exercises will be conducted on selected facility(s) as part of the training.  NOTE – Upon completion, students will receive a certificate from the University of South Florida. The course is also good for ASIS-International CEUs.

Assessments should be a living entity... not a snapshot in time!

In addition to being subjective (and overly reliant upon checklists) assessments are only a snapshot in time.  While you may conduct an excellent risk assessment today, your threats may change next week, rendering today's "paper report" obsolete.

The CARVER process - more specifically the CARVER+ system - allows your threat and vulnerability assessments to become more fluid and relevant.  This increases organizational security awareness, operability, responsibility, mitigation, and budget tracking.

In short, the CARVER Methodology is a time-tested and common-sense approach to risk management, with modern capabilities and adaptabilities.
