Our professionals have extensive experience and diverse backgrounds from successful careers in intelligence, military, law enforcement, national defense, emergency response, information technology and academia.

Sarah Bencie, CEO and Managing Partner
Sarah Bencie is the Chief Executive Officer of Security Management International (SMI). Since assuming day-to-day leadership of SMI, Ms. Bencie has refocused the company’s efforts on capturing more government contracting opportunities, as well as rebranding the organization as a full-service security and intelligence training resource. Additionally, she spearheaded a public/private/academic relationship with the University of South Florida, which established the Global Security Operations Collaborative (GSOC). This one-of-a-kind practical research facility offers students a direct pipeline to opportunities within the U.S. Government, international defense contractors, and management consulting firms in the Washington DC area.
An Experienced Team Matters
At SMI, our team of professionals has worked together for several years – previously responding on behalf of the US Government to terrorist attacks both domestically and abroad, including such places as Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Colombia, the continent of Africa, and numerous other “hot spots” across the globe. Our people come from the intelligence community (IC), Military Special Operations, law enforcement (FBI, US Secret Service and SWAT), emergency management and academia.
